Rana Fawad’s Absence Breaks Jinx For Lahore Qalandars

Lahore Qalandar’s win against Peshawar Zalmi in its first match of the tournament and second of PSL 6 dazzled fans and enkindled hopes of a winning streak ahead

Lahore Qalandars broke the jinx by winning the first match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 but the supporters are establishing an interesting connection between Rana Fawad’s absence in the ground and the triumph.

Lahore Qalandar’s win against Peshawar Zalmi in its first match of the tournament and second of PSL 6 dazzled fans and enkindled hopes of a winning streak ahead.

However, the excited, charged, and fervent Fawad Rana was missing from the scene.

Many supporters of the franchise associated the historic success with the absence of Rana from the field.

Some call it a jinx that when the impassioned franchise owner is ‘missing’, the Qalandars emerge as ‘invictus’.

The win in the inaugural match of the sixth edition has ignited aspirations among the fans of Lahore Qalandars which could not clinch the PSL trophy last year.

They assume that the team has overcome its weaknesses and with in-form stars in the line-up, Qalandars will be bringing the trophy home this season.

However, some fans of the franchise are still skeptical. Although they celebrated the win against Zalmi, they fear that team would soon return to its ‘old track’ and actor and writer Vasay Chaudhry.

It was only last year’s PSL that Lahore Qalandars had reached the final after getting knocked out in the initial stages in the previous four seasons.

However, they lost to Karachi Kings in the final.

But with an undeniable impressive performance in the opening match, the fans hope their Qalandars would surprise everyone this year like the previous season and finish the unfinished task.
