Did Nation Fail to Draw Line on Aurat March Placards?
As Aurat March were held in several cities of Pakistan, some controversial placards were raised again this year

Several Aurat March were staged across Pakistan on International Women’s Day where netizens displayed many new and existing demands through placards that were acceptable for some but offensive for rest.
In some posts that surfaced on social media, men and women could be seen holding placards inscribed with different slogans.
A protestor showcased a placard that quoted ‘the uglier women the bigger feminist, prove me wrong’ on which several other participants countered him. After exchanging barbs, it eventually triggered a brawl.
The opponents questioned the placard-holder the purpose for writing such slogan.
The individual received backlash and was kicked out of the march.
While responding to media, the participant quoted that it was equally important to raise voice of non-feminists who were in a majority.
He further added that in Pakistan, there were no particular authorities or departments designed to speak of male rights.
Meanwhile, another placard inscribed with a controversial slogan stirred a controversy too. The demonstrator used indecent remarks for men.

Over the past couple of years, the march has become contentious in Pakistan for displaying controversial slogans that garner criticism.
For some, these slogans represent the acrid realities whereas for the rest, they do not highlight women’s rights or position but rather portray misandry.
Since 2018, the inaugural Aurat March was organized to highlight the plight of women incapable of doing so in a patriarchal society and to establish equality between genders on different levels.
With every passing year, a large fraction of the society believes that the purpose of the Aurat March is changing drastically where slogans and placards reinforce misandry rather to fill gap between two genders at domestic and institutional levels.
