Smoking Ban Foisted on Four Beaches of Barcelona
Every year, some 2,200 deaths are attributed to smoking and a ban has been imposed on four beaches out of 10 by the officials for making Barcelona a smoke-free city.
From May 29 to September 12, smoking will be banned on various beaches including St. Macaulay, Somorostro, Nova Akaria, and Nova Marbella.
During the trial, the city council will investigate the impact of the decision on public health and environment.
