Students Protest Against Ambani’s Wife as Professor
The wife of billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani received backlash after BHU offered her to be a visiting professor
Mukesh Ambani’s wife Nita Ambani got offered to join Banaras Hindu University (BHU) as a visiting faculty but unhappy students staged a protest against it.
According to officials, over 40 BHU students protested outside the residence of BHU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Rakesh Bhatnagar.
The students suggested some names of some successful professionals including Indian sportswoman Arunima Sinha, mountaineer Bachindri Pal, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MX player Karan Bedi, instead of setting a ‘wrong example’ by appointing Nita Ambani as visiting professor.
However, BHU VC denied that Ambani’s wife was made any such offer.
Moreover, sources have confirmed that besides Nita Ambani, some other controversial names were also on the list for appointments.
These names include Priti Adani, wife of Indian industrialist Gautam Adani, Osha Mittal, wife of steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, and two others.

However, a spokesman for Mukesh Ambani’s company cleared the rumor after the students staged a protest against his wife. He added that Ms. Nita hasn’t received any offer.
