5,000 People Attended Concert in Barcelona After Covid-19 Tests
With such precautionary measures, the ticket price range between 23-28 euros including the cost of the test and face mask
The multi-cultural Barcelona hosted a rock concert at Palau Sant Jordi concert hall, where some 5,000 music fans were allowed to attend the event after clearing the screening test for covid-19 conducted on the same day.
The test was taken before attending the concert to see the level of effectiveness in preventing outbreaks of the virus at large cultural events.
According to the organizers, the audience was advised to follow strict SOPs and the usage of high-quality face masks was mandatory.
One of the participants said, “We were inside our small concert bubble. And we were even able to remember back in time when things like this one were normal. Things that nowadays aren’t that normal, sadly.”
Interestingly, not more than four people were allowed in closed spaces, but the Spanish rock group Love of Lesbian took special permission from Spanish health authorities, and the music lovers were allowed to move freely wearing a face mask.
Before starting the concert, singer Santi Balmes from the band said, “It’s been a year and a half since we last set foot on a scenario as a band.”

The organizers arranged three venues in Barcelona where the participants were tested.
Moreover, people with negative results were messaged an entry code for the 7pm show.
However, participants with special medical needs including heart disease, cancer, or coronavirus history, or in contact with the affected ones were suggested not to sign up.

One of the organizers quoted that this concert will be marked as the first commercial event in Barcelona with 5,000 people to be held in Europe amid covid-19.
With such precautionary measures, the show was a big hit in terms of sales where the tickets ranged from 23-28 euros ($27-33), including the cost of the test and the face mask.

The participants were asked to wear face masks all the time, except when eating or drinking in designated areas.
Barcelona’s local authorities and The Fight AIDS and Infectious Diseases Foundation experts sponsored the event.
Moreover, the participants agreed to immediately inform public health authorities after witnessing any covid-19 symptoms within the weeks after the concert, which will enable them to roll out an analysis between concertgoers and general population.
