Govt Needs to Pritorize Covid-19 Jabs Over Oxygen Beds

Senior journalist Farrukh Saleem noted that so far, only 1% population in Pakistan has been vaccinated

With surge of the third wave of coronavirus affecting thousands of people, Pakistan is in the process of vaccinating its citizens but despite all efforts, only 1% of the total population.

National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) on Monday decided to open the registration of about 12 million citizens between the ages of 40 and 50 and allowed walk-in vaccination facility for those over the age of 50.

On April 28, taking to his Twitter handle, Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar listed the number of people who have been inoculated without any side effects.

Meanwhile, Dr Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan for Health, shared details of covid-19 vaccines received and in the pipeline and said that over 6 million vaccines are expected to be received by June.

Moreover, Asad Umar tweeted that the number of oxygen-dependent patients is now 57%, higher than in June last year.

The planning minister said the government has timely made arrangements from oxygen production to patients’ accommodation facilities to avoid a critical situation like India.

Talking about the statistics of covid-19 vaccination, senior journalist Farrukh Saleem noted that so far, only 1% population in Pakistan has been vaccinated

Thereby, all statistics show that although the government is successful in providing oxygen to affected patients, provision of vaccines still remains a huge challenge.
