Ghulam Hussain is a Scrap Dealer Not a Journalist, Asad Toor

Asad asserted that the veteran journalist had borrowed loans of around Rs 100 million in the name of three companies but he defaulted

A YouTube journalist Asad Ali Toor declared veteran journalist Chaudhry Ghulam Hussain a scrap dealer. In a vlog on his YouTube channel Asad Ali Toor Uncensored, he said that judicial and bank records showed senior journalist Ghulam Hussain was originally a scrap dealer.

He added that only journalists should sit on the television screen but a scrap dealer sits there.

Asad told Hussain ran a junkyard in Badami Bagh, Lahore and his company’s name was Mian & Company. It used to import iron from Taftan and sold it to various industries.

In 2000, he borrowed a loan from the Prudential Commercial Bank, which later became Saudi-Pakistan Commercial Bank and is now known as the Silk Bank, the Youtube told.

Asad asserted that Chaudhry Ghulam Hussain had borrowed loans of around Rs 100 million in the name of three companies.

He had acquired Rs 10.5 million under Mian & Company, Rs 60 million in the name of Umar Bilal Pvt Ltd, and Rs 25 million under Umar Bilal Traders.

However, the YouTuber said that the veteran journalist defaulted in all three loans.

Asad said that Ghulam had a property in Venice Housing Society on Ferozepur Road in Lahore which was mortgaged for taking loans.

When Chaudhry Ghulam Hussain cheated, the bank approached the court for repayment under the Financial Institutions Ordinance (FIO) 2001, Asad Ali Toor said.

Under the ordinance, a trial of financial fraud of more than Rs 50 million will be held in the Lahore High Court (LHC) and below that threshold, it would be held in the banking court.

The case of Omar Bilal company was held in the Lahore High Court (LHC) which was presided over by Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh while other cases relating to default were heard by a banking court.

In all default cases, the courts declared Chauhdry Ghulam Hussain a defaulter.

However, Asad Ali Toor said that Ghulam Hussain filed a review petition in LHC but he was proclaimed as a liar by the high court.

The YouTuber said that the veteran journalist never appeared in the court.

Later, the bank filed another petition in which it asked for the seizure of Ghulam Hussain’s property which was mortgaged.

However, a person named Ghulam Mohiuddin filed a petition in which he claimed that the related property was named after her mother who passed away in 1988.

Asad Toor said that the senior journalist borrowed a loan on fake documents and it was proved in the court.

The court intervened and retrieved the property and handed it over to the real owner, he added.

He said Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had probed into the matter but Ghulam Hussain did not appear before FIA despite multiple summonses.

He told that a banking court also declared the senior journalist a fugitive and issued his arrest warrants.

However, the journalist is still at large and even hosting a show, Asad Toor said.

Asad Toor also told the banking court-ordered FIA to apprehend the senior journalist but the agency did not implement the decision.
