Pakistan Licensed New Airline North Air to Uplift Tourism
Initially, the flights will operate between Islamabad-Gilgit, Islamabad-Skardu, Islamabad-Chitral, and Islamabad-Gwadar
Amid pandemic, tourism has been in a lamentable condition all over the world including Pakistan, but the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), in a bid to boost tourism, issued a license to the newly launched private airline ‘North Air’.
The aviation authority issued Tourism Promotion and Regional Integration (TPRI) license and the newly launched airline is planned to operate flights for Gilgit, Skardu, Chitral, and Gwadar.

The head office of the airline has been established at Islamabad International Airport (IIA) and initially, the North Air flights will operate between Islamabad-Gilgit, Islamabad-Skardu, Islamabad-Chitral, and Islamabad-Gwadar.

On the other hand, a few months backs, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) resumed its flights to Saidu Sharif (Swat) from Islamabad and Lahore after a hiatus of 17 years.
The decision was taken to boost tourism in the region and would help bolster exports, fruits, vegetables, carpets, handicrafts, and woolen industries, as maintained by Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan.
The Saidu Sharif airport was non-operational since 2004 as the region was hit badly by terrorism.
