Shahid Afridi & Naseem Shah Are Barred From Playing PSL 6
The players, franchise members, and broadcast crew have started a two-day quarantine before departing for the tournament in UAE
The remaining matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 are scheduled from June 1 in Abu Dhabi, UAE but Multan Sultan’s Shahid Afridi and Quetta Gladiator’s Naseem Shah will miss out the event.
Before departing for the second leg of PSL 2021, players, franchise management, and broadcast crew, have started a two-day quarantine.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Multan Sultan’s star all-rounder Shahid Afridi posted his photo from the hospital and disclosed that the management has advised him rest due to a back injury.
While training for the remainder of @thePSLt20, I felt lower back pain & had to consult a doctor. Unfortunately I have been advised to rest and can no longer accompany my team @MultanSultans. I am heartbroken 💔 as I was practicing and training really hard. pic.twitter.com/OjaHD1w9cg

In replacement of Afridi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s left-arm-spinner Asif Afridi is going to join Sultans in Abu Dhabi.
Apart from Shahid Afridi, Quetta Gladiator’s fast bowler Naseem Shah will not be part of PSL 6 owing to a protocol breach of producing a non-compliant RT-PCR Test.
The players, who were scheduled to fly out from Karachi and Lahore to Abu Dhabi on May 26, were asked to provide a negative report of a PCR test, taken not more than 48 hours before they arrived at the hotel.
In contrast to the request, Naseem submitted a report produced on May 18 after which he was advised to remain in isolation from the rest of the players in the hotel.
Later, PSL’s Medical Advisory Panel decided not to carry Shah with other players to UAE.
Sports journalist Shahid Hashmi took to his Twitter handle and highlighted that the management needs to take proper measures to secure young blood and work on their grooming and education.
Naseem Shah is out of PSL 6 part – II on breach of Covid-19 protocols… at such a young age (questionable though) he has seen it nearly all… needs proper grooming and education or else he will be lost…

In response to Hashmi’s tweet, Wasim Akram showed his concerns over who is going to polish the fresh players.
That’s sad shahid and now the big question is who is going to groom these youngsters any suggestions? https://t.co/oSConKANTE
