‘Friends’ Aided BTS Rapper Kim Namjoon Learn English

Some 236 episodes of the most celebrated series, originally premiered in 1994 on NBC, were dubbed in Hindi for Netflix in 2015

BTS Rapper and songwriter Kim Namjoon, popular as RM, has revealed that the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) sitcom FRIENDS assisted him in learning English. 

The American television sitcom was produced by David Crane and Marta Kauffman that aired on NBC from September 1994 to May 2004.

The star cast includes Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt Leblanc, Mathew Perry, and David Schwimmer.

The story revolves around six friends, who were in their 20s and 30s living in Manhattan New York City, and support each other through their comedic, romantic adventures, and career issues.

Interestingly, the best-selling Korean pop group made a guest appearance in the recently-released Friends: The Reunion.

Flaunting over the amazing on-screen chemistry of the star-studded sitcom, RM said, “My mom bought me the DVDs of the whole series when I was in elementary school”.

BTS Rapper added, “Friends really had a big hand in making me learn English, and the show taught me the things about life and true friendship”.

Moreover, David Beckham, Justin Bieber, and Lady Gaga are among other celebrities to appear as special guests on Friends: The Reunion.
