Shahbaz Sharif's PPP-like formula was turned down by PDM and even his elder brother Nawaz Sharif
Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) dismissed PPP-like formula presented by Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif as he pushed for in-house strike on the government but didn’t even get support from his brother Nawaz Sharif, News360 learned via sources.
The meeting of PDM to decide the future course of action against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was held in Islamabad on Saturday.
Well-placed sources told News360 that Opposition Leader in the National Assembly (NA) Shahbaz Sharif advised the opposition alliance to give in-house tough time to the ruling party.

He suggested that the opposition parties should not let the government pass the upcoming budget for the next fiscal year 2021-2022.
However, PDM Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman opposed the suggestion and said that they had already tried the tactic in the Senate election on recommendation of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
He added that PPP had also forecasted that the PTI government would lose credibility if it lost the Islamabad seat in the poll of the upper house.
Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman said that although the government lost the seat, it recoiled with a successful vote of confidence on Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Sources said that the argument put Shahbaz Sharif on the back foot and he hushed up.
PML-Head Nawaz Sharif also backed Maulana’s viewpoint and instead opined that display of street power would be a better option for exerting pressure on the government.
The latest development showed that Shahbaz Sharif failed to persuade PDM partners on his formula that resembled one presented by PPP and even his elder brother Nawaz went against him and backed a different viewpoint.
