Pakistan cricket board had hired broadcasters from different countries to air crowdless games live

Indian broadcasters violating coronavirus protocols is being deemed by Pakistani cricket fans as a possible attempt to sabotage Pakistan Super League (PSL).

As PSL 6 was relocated to Abu Dhabi for the remaining matches following the covid situation, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had hired broadcasters from different countries to air crowdless games live.

The broadcasters from South Africa and India were earlier not given clearance as their indigenous variants of coronavirus were considered dangerous among the existing ones.

Later, after the invention of the government, the Abu Dhabi health authorities allowed Indian and South African crew to enter the country for PSL.

But, the clearance to the Indian crew has been rescinded by the authorities as they violated covid-19 protocols devised to stem the virus.

Indian broadcasters have been sent back to Dubai, from the hotel they were observing two-days isolation in Abu Dhabi, to observe a week-long quarantine.

The measure has delayed the recommencement of PSL 6 and the cricket board is looking for new broadcasters and ‘high-level’ efforts are underway in this regard.

PSL 6 was scheduled to take place at Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium in the first week of June which is about to end and the probability is shrinking.

The users on social media have paralleled the possible breach of protocols by the Indian broadcasters as an attempt to sabotage PSL.

They asked why the violation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) didn’t come from any other broadcasters than Indians.

The internet users noted that South African broadcasters were also on the radar of Abu Dhabi authorities but they strictly abode by the rules unlike the crew from India.

Several Pakistani cricket fans cast doubt that it could be an attempt to obstruct PSL as the flamboyant Indian Premier League (IPL) was postponed after the covid situation in India went turbulent and players and staff returned virus-positive.
