Opposition Walked Out Against Opposition From National Assembly
On the assembly floor, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto called PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal a paper-only office-bearer of the party
In a novel occurrence, the opposition parties including PML-N and JUI-F walked out from the national assembly over the remarks of chairman of another opposition party, PPP.
On the first day of the budget session on Monday, the national assembly (NA) discussed the tragic Gothki rail crash in which at least 50 people were killed and more than 100 passengers were injured.
When Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto took the assembly floor, he called Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal a paper-only office bearer of the party.

Earlier before Bilawal was assigned the mic, Ahsan Iqbal had criticized the speaker for providing Bilawal a chance to speak first despite that PML-N was the largest party in the lower house.

After this, Ahsan Iqbal belabored Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for frequent rail crashes after Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry defended his government on the tragic incident and put its onus on years-long negligence of the past regimes.
Amid recrimination against each other, the remarks by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto enraged opposition members from PML-N and JUI-F.
Later, PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal took to his Twitter account and said that he did not mind what Bilawal said as he was younger than his eldest son and yet to learn many things.
He expressed that PTI often terms PPP chairman a product of ‘paper will’ and added that it was incomprehensible for him why Bilawal attacked him with such words.
https://t.co/7w07PhheHb

Moreover, Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry commented that the opposition’s narrative of economic destruction had died its own death and the rifts between opposition parties would decimate their politics.

Notably, PPP had distanced itself from Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) after the election of the opposition leader in the Senate.
Since then, PPP and PDM partners have lashed out at each other on multiple occasions and the instance of the walkout of opposition parties against an opposition party denote the divide has deepened.
