Takeaways For The World From Coronavirus Crisis in India
The placement of Pakistan, a developing nation, in the third position remarks the roaring success of the government with smart moves when the pandemic virus was at its crest.
The first measure step was the establishment of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the nerve center to synergize and articulate a unified national effort against covid-19.
The effective enforcement of lockdowns followed by a novel smart lockdown strategy helped to curtail the virus to a large extent and kept the wheel of the economy propelling.
The federal and provincial governments ensured the strict implementation of Nonpharmaceutical Interventions (NPIs) at public sites which helped stem soaring rate of the deadly virus.
Following this, the federal government took up the gauntlet to procure vaccines to kick off the mass vaccination drive despite meager resources.
Until today, some 3,360,490 people have been fully vaccinated across the country while 14,026,856 have received their first doses.
Pakistan has so crossed the 10 million-mark in vaccination for its population of over 250 million which is relatively low as around 90% population is still not immunized.
However, the government is endeavoring to procure vaccines from different manufacturers.
Meanwhile, the National Institute of Health (NIH) has also started preparing the covid-19 vaccine locally and it is expected to produce 3 million doses monthly from the current month.
