Ali Amin Gandapur Targets Bhutto in New Faux Pas

The minister lost his temper and accused PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto of dividing the country for acquiring power and called him a traitor

Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur made another goof by calling Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto a traitor and it was after these remarks that everybody joined the chorus of condemnation.

The minister was addressing an election rally in Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.

Ali Amin Gandapur lost his temper and accused Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto of dividing the country, referring to East Pakistan, for acquiring power.

The minister passed over the fact Bhutto had resigned as the foreign minister in Ayub Khan’s cabinet after having differences on the peace treaty with India post-1965 war under which both countries swapped prisoners of wars (POWs) and armies were retracted to pre-war boundaries.

Similarly, Bhutto was also the founder of the country’s nuclear program.

The ex-prime minister had brought back 93,000 Pakistani POWs from India after the 1971 war.

With Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto being the latest victim of his slander, Gandapur is popular for making gaffes.

Last year, he let his underage son drive a vehicle and recorded it. When he was criticized for it, the minister came up in his defense instead of accepting his mistake.

Gandapur had refuted all allegations of possessing liquor bottles that were recovered from his car back in 2016 when he was KP’s revenue minister.

He had labeled them as ‘honey bottles’ for which he was cut down to size by the social media users.
