Will Maryam Nawaz Stage a Sit-in in Islamabad as Pledged?
During an election rally, PML-N Vice President had announced that her party would stage a sit-in on Constitution Avenue in Islamabad in case if AJK elections were rigged
Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has refused to accept the results of Azad and Jammu Kashmir (AJK) elections citing rigging and it is yet to be seen whether she would stage a sit-in in Islamabad as she had pledged before the elections.
During an election rally earlier this month, Maryam Nawaz had announced that her party would stage a sit-in on Constitution Avenue in Islamabad in case if AJK elections were rigged.
Now that the results of polls have come out, PML-N fell behind and only gained 6 seats and its government in the region has come to an end.

Taking to her Twitter account, PML-N Vice President announced that she has not accepted the results just like she didn’t of the general elections 2018.
However, she didn’t explicitly said whether her party would stage a sit-in in Islamabad as she had categorically said before the polls.
Maryam took the position that they would decide about the future course very soon.

However, the political analysts assume that the threat to stage a sit-in was just a repetition of political rhetoric by Maryam as it wouldn’t be easy for her to convince PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif and other senior leaders of the party.
Earlier, Maryam Nawaz had also pushed for a long march on Islamabad when the opposition parties had ranged themselves against the PTI government under the banner of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
However, the consensus on it was never developed and eventually, PDM was disintegrated.
The political analysts say it remains to be seen whether PML-N leader would take to the streets against alleged rigging in AJK elections or it would just prove to be another empty threat.
