Prices of Sugar, Flour & Ghee to Skyrocket at Utility Stores

The masses have criticized the hike in prices of daily-use commodities and said the government was snatching away their right of living

The federal government has approved an increase in the prices of different daily-use commodities including flour, sugar, and ghee from August 1.

Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) formally approved the increase of Rs 150 on a 20-kilogram (kg) flour bag and Rs 75 on a 10-kg flour bag.

The 20-kg flour bag will be available for Rs 950 instead of Rs 800 while a 10-kg flour bag will be selling for Rs 475 at all utility stores from August 1.

 

The price of ghee at all utility stores will be increased by Rs 90 per kg and its revised price will be Rs 260 per kg at all utility stores across the country.

Similarly, ECC has also approved to increase the rates of sugar by Rs 17 per kg and the new price of the sweetened commodity will be Rs 85 per kg instead of Rs 68 per kg.

The masses have criticized the hike in prices of daily-use commodities and said the government was snatching away their right of living.
