Internal Pressure Grabs Key Post From Murtaza Wahab
The leaders of different districts in Sindh had started demanding administratorship in their respective jurisdictions
The leadership of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has surrendered to internal pressure on the appointment of Murtaza Wahab as Karachi’s administrator and decided to appoint him as the adviser on local bodies instead.
Sources said that the decision had created differences in the party and leaders of different districts in Sindh had started demanding administratorship in their respective jurisdictions.
Sindh Government Spokesperson Murtaza Wahab had also met PPP Chairman at Bilawal House.
However, the decision was reversed at the last moment to stop division in the party.

Sindh government had also changed four deputy commissioners (DCs) in Karachi to make room for Murtaza Wahab as an administrator.
The idea of running the cities through administrators instead of local bodies was opposed by major opposition parties of Sindh including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan (MQM-P).
They had approached the Sindh High Court too against delay in the organization of local bodies elections.
Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry had also opposed the idea of running the biggest city in the country on an adhoc basis.
He said that PPP’s performance was visible to everyone and instead of doing work, it was carrying out experiments.
After facing internal pressure, sources told News360 that Sindh government has decided in principle to appoint Murtaza Wahab as the adviser on local bodies and the annoucment in this regard would be .
