Shehzad Roy Stands by Kashmiris With Faiz Ahmed’s Poem
On August 5, 2019, the Indian government revoked the special status granted to Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution

On the occasion of the second anniversary of the revocation of Kashmir’s special status by the Modi government, Pakistani singer Shehzad Roy has released a song Unn Kay Naam for Kashmiris to reflect the nation’s thoughts using Faiz Ahmed’s poem.
On August 5, 2019, the Indian government revoked the special status granted to Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution.
A provision of the constitution said that since J&K is a disputed territory on the UN Charter, its people have yet to determine their political future.
However, the Modi regime forcefully integrated the region in India and ended its statehood.

Since then, the tension in the disputed region escalated and dozens of Kashmiris have lost their loved ones against the price of peace and security.
In this regard, Pakistan also observes August 5 as Youm-e-Istehsal or ‘Day of Exploitation’.
Taking to his social media pages, Shehzad Roy took up the cudgels for the sufferings of the people in the disputed territory.
For the sake of children’s future on both sides of the border, the social activist wants to send a message of peace to India.
