Pakistan to Brave Another Diplomatic Challenge at UNSC

Ambassador to UN Munir Akram hopes that the 15-member body would objectively evaluate the worsening situation in Afghanistan

United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will sit on Friday morning in New York under Indian convenorship which indicates another diplomatic challenge for Pakistan.

The 15-member body would primarily focus on the Afghan issue and advancement of the Taliban in the strife-torn country.

The meeting poses a great challenge for Pakistan as it is expected that India would use the forum for belittling its efforts for peace in Afghanistan.

US has grave concerns over Pakistan’s relationship with China and its rapprochement with Russia.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has had stood out against the military solution of the Afghanistan issue and criticized the US on various occasions.
