The South Zone Police has launched a special operation after an increase in the crime rate through unregistered vehicles in the metropolitan city came to light.
In this regard, new checkpoints are set up in the posh areas and the personnel is directed to thoroughly check every vehicle and to take non-discriminatory action against unregistered ones.
In a recent operation, Karachi Police have focused on the areas of DHA and Clifton and adopting a new strategy to curb the rising crime rate.

Along with the district police, the traffic police have also joined the forces at the checkpoints during the new campaign to assist them.
Moreover, SSP South Zubair Nazir Sheikh says that officers are instructed to check the documents of suspicious vehicles and ensure that the culprits driving unregistered vehicles are caught before committing any crime.
Further, the traffic police will also issue challan to the vehicles having fancy or applied for registration (AFR) number plates as well as tinted windows.
They will also be checking the weapon license of the armed security guards traveling in private vehicles, who would be mandated to refrain from displaying weapons to avert legal action.
