Rakh Jhok forest, covering an area of 24,000 Kanals, will be monitored by sensors and a surveillance system

Prime Minister Imran Khan visited Sheikhupura to inaugurate one of the biggest projects in Pakistan’s history, Rakh Jhok smart forest, as part of the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project.

Imran Khan inaugurated the smart forest by planting a tree in Sheikhupura, a city in Punjab province.

Rakh Jhok forest, covering an area of 24,000 Kanals, will be monitored by sensors and a surveillance system.

The surveillance of the forest will be carried out by collaboration with Chinese technology company Huawei and for this, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) has been signed.

The premier maintained that the project will contribute significantly to the environment and will address other challenges too.

“This will be an exemplary project that will change Pakistan and its environment”, he added.

The premier, while addressing the inauguration ceremony, claimed that the project will help decrease global warming, pollution, and clean drinking water issues in Pakistan.

“It is the first time that 10 million trees will be planted after proper planning”, Imran Khan added.
