BTS Receives Diplomatic Passports & Appointed as Special Envoys

The presidential office maintained that the diplomatic passports have been given to BTS due to their outstanding contribution in representing the country globally

South Korean boy band and K-Pop sensation BTS also known as Bangtan Boys have been granted diplomatic passports ahead of United Nations (UN) General Assembly, as confirmed by South Korea’s presidential office.

The seven boys of the band are also appointed as ‘presidential special envoys’ and received the red-covered diplomatic passports from the South Korean President Moon.

The presidential office maintained that the diplomatic passports have been given to BTS due to their outstanding contribution in representing the country globally.

BTS has been credited for generating billions for their country.

With their new role as special envoys, the boys will deliver a speech during the Sustainable Development Goals Moment ahead of UN General Assembly along with a performance video.

The band’s member RM said that it is a great honor to receive the title.

The K-Pop band has become a global phenomenon over the past few years with record-setting views on their music videos.

The band was initially discovered by the management company Big Hit Entertainment in 2010 and released their debut album 2 Cool 4 Skool in 2013.

Most of their music videos convey messages about social issues and that has become their identity.
