Govt, TTP reached ceasefire agreement

TRT World's Hasan Abdullah says the accord effective from Nov 1 will be for one month initially.

Pakistan government and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP ) have reached a ceasefire agreement.

“Initially the cease-fire accord is for one month,” state-run TRT World journalist Hasan Abdulllah wrote on his twitter account on Thursday.

The journalist further said that the agreement between the Pakistan government and TTP is effective from Nov 1.

Giving further details, Hasan Abdullah said the accord is extendable based on mutual agreement.

Afghan Taliban are mediating between the Pakistan government and TTP, he added.

The journalist associated with the Turkish broadcaster said that both the sides had started negotiations on Oct 25.
