Indian Tiger Completes Longest Journey for ‘Mating’
3.5 years-old male left his home in a wildlife sanctuary in the western state of Maharashtra.

He later stopped and settled in Dnyanganga sanctuary.
The big cat is renamed ‘Walker’ by the wildlife authorities.

Last year in June, 3.5 years-old male left his home in a wildlife sanctuary in the western state of Maharashtra.
He was possibly in search of prey, territory, or a mate. The big cat was fitted with a radio collar.
The distance was recorded to be some 3,000 km (1,864 miles).
He walked through seven districts in Maharashtra and the neighboring state of Telangana for over nine months before settling down.
