Another fire erupted in Teen Hatti neighbourhood
This is the fourth fire incident in the city in last six days.
Another massive fire – the fourth within a week – has erupted in slums at Teen Hatti neighbourhood on Saturday.
Fire brigade, contingents of law enforcement agencies and rescue teams rushed to the site and started operation to extinguish the fire.
Police had cordoned off the area. The fire erupted under the Lyari Expressway.
During the last six days, this is the fourth fire incident in the city.

Over 500 shops gutted in Saddar’s Cooperative Market
On Sunday, a huge fire had erupted at Cooperative Market in Saddar and burnt more than 500 shops, resulting in loss of billions of rupees to traders.
The fire took place around 5pm, which engulfed the whole market within no time. The fire in the market was reported to the fire brigade authorities at around 6pm, after which two fire tenders reached the spot and started fire extinguishing efforts.
The traders of the Cooperative Market had termed the claim of 350 shops in the market by the commissioner and the administrator as wrong. They added that there were 400 shops on the ground floor and over 200 on the upper floors of the market.
The traders said that due to the fire currency notes worth about Rs200 million kept in the shops burnt.
Later on Wednesday, 45 shops gutted when another fire erupted at Victoria Market located in Karachi’s major business area Saddar.
The 5th floor of the market adjacent to Zainab Market had caught the fire.
Separately, a factory in SITE area also caught fire on Monday. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained.
Due to shortage of fire fighting equipment and outdated infrastructure, the city reports hundreds of fire incidents every year.
