Pakistan refuses to attend US conference, China welcomes
US President Joe Biden invited 110 countries to a virtual conference on democracy, Pakistan apologizes for not participating.
Pakistan has refused to attend US conference on democracy hosted by the United States. According to a Foreign Office spokesperson, a virtual summit on democracy is being held on December 9 and 10 in which Pakistan has decided not to participate.
He said that he was grateful to the United States for inviting him, adding that Pakistan would continue to take steps to strengthen democracy and protect human rights.

It may be recalled that US President Joe Biden had invited 110 countries, including Pakistan, to the Virtual Summit on Democracy, but China and Russia were not invited.
The real reasons for Pakistan’s non-participation in the US conference could not be ascertained but a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman made a very important statement in this regard.
The Chinese Foreign Spokesman shared the press release of Pakistan Foreign Office on Twitter and wrote that Pakistan refused to participate in the Democratic Summit, our real brotherly country.
