Shagufta Ejaz tells how PTV-era actors are treated in award shows these days

Well-known television artist Shagufta Ejaz has revealed the ill-treatment in award shows these days with the senior actors from PTV-era.

In a Twitter post, Shagufta Ejaz was quoted as saying that neither PTV-era actors are invited in award shows these days nor have they got nominated for any position. She was of the view that they are being avoided for staying away from ‘glamour’.

While taking on the credibility of the award shows, the ‘Bisaat’ actor said, “If an actor is nominated, then the artist is pressurised to attend the award show at any cost, otherwise, the actor’s award will be cancelled.”

Shagufta Ejaz censured the organisers for ‘hurting the sentiments of people [senior artists] via inappropriate behaviour in the award shows’.

The actress is not the first who spoke against the award shows as many others had complained about the criterion and some bad experiences in these showbiz events.

Earlier, Noman Ijaz had expressed his displeasure over the criterion of the award shows as undeserving artists get to win an award and sometimes, less experienced celebrities are handing over awards.

Another actress Faiza Hasan spoke against the mismanagement at an award show where organisers had rejected to recognize her. She then found someone else sitting on her allotted seat after searching her seat by herself.

‘Nand’ actor criticised the badly organised award shows where the guests are not respected nor being properly welcomed.
