PML-N’s Ahsan Iqbal blasts nationals for electing Imran Khan as PM

Ahsan Iqbal has termed the nationals ‘fool’ in his Twitter message for electing ‘inexperienced’ Imran Khan as the ruler of the country.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Secretary-General Ahsan Iqbal has slammed the nationals in general for electing Imran Khan as the prime minister.

Ahsan Iqbal has termed the nationals ‘fool’ in his Twitter message for electing ‘incompetent’ Imran Khan as the ruler of the country. He said, “When people get stupid, God doesn’t destroy them. He sends incompetent rulers like Imran Niazi to rule and punish them.”

He continued his message, saying, “It is for those people who believed that an inexperienced leader who had never run even a union council conman could be a saviour and put him as head of a nuclear power to bring the country to bankruptcy.”

Reacting to his Twitter message, journalist Matiullah Jan wrote a comment, “Didn’t we were made fool since 1958 and we never became intelligent since then?”

A user commented, “When Almighty want to bless people then Imran Khan kind of people are choosen to rule them and when we were being subjected to punishment due to our deeds then we were being subjected to rulers who can’t think beyond their own pockets/kins and businesses.”

Another said, “So basically you are saying people got stupid just in 2018, and rest of the time they were wise and politically conscious, I would say we have been facing the same political turmoil and inefficiency of the leaders since the demise of Quaid e Azam.”

Analysts have expressed surprise over Iqbal’s remarks who is considered one of the decent politicians in the country.

They said that expecting such remarks from Ahsan Iqbal was surprising in which he termed the nation stupid and fool despite his political party making claims to believe in power residing in the people in a democratic state.

They added that PML-N central leaders and Nawaz Sharif should take notice of Iqbal’s questionable statement.
