PM Imran Khan to address Mansehra public gathering today

MANSEHRA: Prime Minister Imran Khan will address a public gathering in Mansehra’s Thakral Stadium today in continuation of the ruling party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) mass contact campaign.
Amid the latest political developments regarding the no-confidence motion, the premier kept his schedule of back-to-back public gatherings unchanged as he will address another power show in Mansehra today.
It was learnt that the political event will be attended by PTI candidates, leaders and workers from Mansehra, Abbottabad, Battagram, Torghar, Upper and Lower Kohistan, and Kolai-Palas districts.
To review the preparations, federal minister Azam Khan Swati, parliamentary secretary Salah Mohammad Khan, PTI lawmakers and other government officials had visited the Thakral Stadium.
PM Khan’s attendance in the public gathering in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) districts are continued amid the issuance of several notices by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) district monitoring officers following the violation of the election code of conduct ahead of KP local government (LG) polls to be held on March 31.
PM rejects stepping down
It was learnt earlier that Prime Minister Imran Khan has rejected the suggestion of key personalities to step down from his position to resolve the current political crisis.

Yesterday, a ‘key personality’ held a meeting with PM Imran Khan and asked him to step down before March 27. However, the premier rejected to tender resignation and unveiled its next strategy, said sources.
The premier had told the key personalities that he will not tender resignation from his position at any cost but continue the battle till the last minute, revealed sources.
They added that the power show in Islamabad by the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will be the surprise of the premier on March 27 as Imran Khan and his cabinet set a target to gather 1 million people at the Parade Ground.
Sources added that the Islamabad power show will be the trump card of the premier in which he will expose the controversies regarding the national institutions besides giving a deadline to withdraw the no-confidence motion.
It emerged that the premier will expose the evidence of corruption against some top office-bearers and announced to move to the court with a deadline to withdraw the no-confidence motion against him.
Sources told News360 that the key personalities will meet PM Khan again and try to convince him again on stepping down.
NA session adjourned
The National Assembly (NA) Speaker Asad Qaiser has adjourned the session till March 28 without any proceeding on the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The NA Speaker Asad Qaiser adjourned the session till March 28 (Monday) after conducting Fateha Khwani of late parliamentarians including a Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Khail Zaman, Senator Rehman Malik, former president Rafiq Tarar and others.
Qaiser said that it is a tradition to adjourn the NA session after the demise of a parliamentarian. He added that he will continue proceedings on the no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan in accordance with the regulations.
After the Fateha Khawani for the late parliamentarians, the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif sought permission from the speaker for addressing the session. However, Qaiser has immediately adjourned the session till Monday, 4:00 pm.
