The ruling elites of PML-N have extended their stay in London for two more days despite serious economic challenges.

LONDON: The ruling elites of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) have extended their stay in London for two more days despite serious economic challenges.

The PML-N delegation led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will stay in London for two more days.

Except for a comprehensive plan to revive the national economy, the ruling party took important decisions on everything for the political front including coalition partners, the Punjab cabinet, fixing the political rival Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and others.

The demand for the return of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif has gained momentum as many leaders PML-N leaders insisted to see Nawaz Sharif in Pakistan. It was learnt that the participants of the meeting were asked to take oath twice for not revealing the details of the London meeting.

Sources said that the government delegation decided to lodge cases of constitutional violations against the former prime minister Imran Khan and his team’s steps after April 3. They added that legal action will be initiated against Imran Khan, President Arif Alvi, Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri, ousted Punjab governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema and former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry for violating the constitution.

According to sources, the government delegation has also finalised all the decisions for power-sharing in Punjab and for fulfilling the promises with the ally parties.

The PML-N leadership has settled all the political issues but it did not take any step or formulate a strategy for the revival of the economy, depreciation of the rupee and subsidy on petroleum products. The top leaders also failed to present a comprehensive plan for electoral reforms as it is impossible without the inclusion of PTI in the process.

On the other hand, it has been revealed that the PML-N leaders have taken oaths twice for keeping the secrecy of the London meeting

Critics said that the ruling elites are touring London and discussing the future of the country, but interestingly, the decisions related to the national issues are being kept secret.

Meanwhile, internal pressure is mounting on Nawaz Sharif to return to Pakistan. According to sources, the PML-N leadership is likely to take a decision on ex-premier’s return in a one-on-one meeting between the Sharif brothers. Sources added that it was also decided to file an appeal to quash the sentence of Nawaz Sharif to pave way for his return to Pakistan.

Meanwhile, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry criticised the PML-N top leaders and said that the government is sitting in London but the rate of the US dollar jacked up to Rs193 here in Pakistan. He said that there is no government existing in the country, Punjab is facing water scarcity and the Kharif crop is near destruction.

He added that the PML-N government should stop joking with the nation and it should take steps to form an interim government and hold fresh elections.
