Foreign Direct Investment Decreased by 5% YoY During 11MFY22
China remained the largest investor with a net FDI of $373m during 11MFY22 compared with $720m during the same period last year.
Foreign direct investment during May’22 saw a net inflow of $141mn compared to a net inflow of $199mn during May’21, down by 29% YoY and 17% MoM.
During 11MFY22, FDI has witnessed a decrease of 5% YoY to USD 1,597mn.

United States remained the second-largest investor with a net FDI of USD 241mn during 11MFY22 compared with USD 122mn during the same period last year.
During 11MFY22, a major investment was poured into the Power sector (USD 567mn) followed by Financial Business Sector (USD 373mn) and Oil and Gas Exploration (USD 188mn).
