14-year-old girl missing: Parents suspect involvement of human traffickers
Another kidnapping case of a 14-year-old girl was reported in Karachi while the parents suspected human traffickers' involvement.
KARACHI: Another kidnapping case of a young girl kidnapping aged 14 years was reported in Karachi while the parents suspected the involvement of a human trafficking network activated in the metropolis and Lahore for their daughter, Asma Bibi’s abduction.
A resident of Karachi’s Qayyumabad area told News360 that his daughter was allegedly abducted from a bungalow where she works as a domestic worker. She had been abducted from the bungalow on November 11, 2016.
The family lodged an FIR (723/2016) at the local police station under sections 365/B. The father said that Asma Bibi was in contact with one of his relatives Jan Muhammad.
“We went to the bungalow owner who is a lady and she told us that the girl fled from the house after jumping off the wall. When we expressed suspicions, they checked the landline record which revealed that she was in contact with Jan Muhammad and was having a love affair.”
Asma Bibi’s mother said that the suspect man married another girl and has two children now but her daughter is still missing.
Preparations completed for sending Dua Zehra abroad
The father said that he went to Darakhshan police station multiple times and the suspect was also nabbed but he received bail and was released whenever he got arrested. The father said that he got tired of searching for his daughter, asking police to recover her and running to the courts for seeking justice.
He said that Shehla Qureshi is still doing efforts for Asma’s recovery and the police said that they will check the missing girl’s mobile phone data which will take three months. He said that Jan Muhammad, Faheem and Zakir are suspects in his daughter’s abduction.
The mother said that the suspect married another girl but her daughter went missing. “We contacted community elders but they told them that they do not know the whereabouts of her daughter.”
Dua Zehra case: Parents’ lawyer seeks police probe records
She said that the family members are still facing kidnapping threats from Zakir. The father said that Zakir has a scrap business and used to give interest-based loans to the people. He alleged that Zakir was also involved in kidnapping and selling girls to wealthy people.
He said that Zakir had once kidnapped two girls in Lahore and married them to his nephew. He added that the suspect has strong connections with influential personalities including police as they did not take any action against him.
The parents demanded the prime minister, chief minister and other influential personalities to help them for the safe recovery of their daughter.
