Dua Zehra case: Sindh, Punjab police fail to arrest Zaheer Ahmed after 48 hours
PM's aide says Punjab police was ordered to arrest Zaheer Ahmed at the request of Sindh police
In the case of Dua Zehra’s early marriage, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s special assistant Salman Sufi has ordered the Punjab Police to arrest Dua Zehra’s husband Zaheer Ahmed.
Analysts say that the government should have arrested the gang members that forced Dua Zahra to take such a big step.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Salman Sufi said in a tweet that Sindh Police has requested for Zaheer Ahmed’s arrest, the prime suspect in the Dua Zahra case.
Salman Sufi further wrote that “On the request of the Sindh Police, the Punjab Police has been ordered to trace and arrest the accused and the Child Protection Bureau will hand over the girl to the custody of the Darul Aman.”
“There will be no leniency on the abuse of boys and girls,” he said.
Dua Zehra case: CDR confirms Zaheer Ahmed’s presence in Karachi on ‘abduction day’
It should be noted that the SAPM Salman Sufi took a special interest in the Dua Zehra case and said last month that the Dua Zehra case will be fully investigated and all available resources will be used. “Protection of children and parents is very important,” he said.
He also and wrote that the case has exposed an important element of child marriage and mental abuse of children.
It should be noted that two days ago, Shaukat Shahani, the investigating officer (IO) of the Dua Zehra kidnapping case, submitted a report to the Additional Sessions Judge in which it was said that when Dua Zehra was allegedly kidnapped from Karachi, Zaheer Ahmed was present in Karachi.
The call data record (CDR) revealed in the report that Ahmed was found in Karachi on the day of Zehra’s disappearance.
Dua Zehra case: Involvement of notorious Goga Gang exposed
It should be noted that News360 had given an important news from its sources on July 13 that the Goga gang is involved in the kidnapping of Dua Zehra, which kidnaps and smuggles young boys and girls abroad. In the Dua Zehra case, the Goga Gang used Zaheer Ahmed.
News360 had earlier reported that Zaheer Ahmed has links with the Goga Gang and had allegedly convinced Dua Zahra to get married in Punjab.
On April 17, Dua Zehra reached Lahore and was immediately taken to Dipalpur Tehsil of Okara district in Punjab and kept at the residence of an influential person.
The Punjab Police had recovered Dua Zehra from Dipalpur on a court order. According to News 360 sources, Zaheer Ahmed and Dua Zahra were kept at Okara’s residence from April 17 to 26. Sources have told that DPO Okara was also involved in the whole story.
