Viral video showed PPP MNA Pir Ameer Ali Shah Jeelani sitting like a king and washing his shoes with mineral water in front of villagers.
A video has gone viral on social media showed Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Pir Ameer Ali Shah Jeelani sitting like a king, having cold drink and washing his shoes with mineral water in front of the villagers sitting on the ground.
The video was posted by the journalists to expose the elitism and feudalism in Sindh. The PPP MNA Pir Ameer Ali Shah Jeelani from Tharparkar’s NA-221 was seen sitting like a royal amid villagers who were reportedly affected by torrential rains during the current monsoon season.
The poor villagers were treating the PPP MNA Jeelanii like a king by bowing their heads and sitting in front of him. The NA lawmaker was seen having a cold drink, and smoking and later he washed his shoes with mineral water.

The video came at the time when several parts of Sindh were hit by floods and several cities were declared as ‘calamity-hit’ by the provincial government. Rescue and relief efforts are still continuing in the flood-hit areas by the federal and provincial governments, as well as the armed forces besides making efforts to rehabilitate the disaster-hit areas.
Tharparker is also among the rain-hit districts of Sindh with high mortality of livestock, causing food shortage for the citizens.
