Imran Khan conditionally agreed on postponing long march, Nawaz Sharif’s return: sources
PTI chief Imran Khan conditionally agreed on postponing the long march for two weeks and giving way to PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif's return.
The former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has conditionally agreed on postponing the long march for two weeks and giving way to former premier and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif’s return.
Sources told News360 that Imran Khan showed agreement to postpone his long march for two weeks. He has also shown agreement in giving a way to Nawaz Sharif’s return to Pakistan to give his political opponents a level playing field. However, he demanded to unveil fresh election date immediately in return, sources added.
In his address yesterday, Khan hinted at postponing the long march, however, he did not reveal the schedule of his next long march. He said that he will hit the roads once again after recovering health and give a call for the Islamabad march.
He also said that Nawaz Sharif sought a level playing field from him. The PTI chief criticised Nawaz Sharif was seeking a level playing field but his government along with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) were busy making attempts to disqualify him in different cases. He expressed hopes that the courts will overturn the ECP’s Toshakhana verdict as well just like the verdicts of other false cases were nullified.
Khan, however, challenged the PML-N supremo that he is ready to contest Nawaz Sharif in any constituency of the country.
Analysts said that the ball is in Nawaz Sharif’s court now but he has not yet given a clear date for his return to Pakistan.
