According to the Cabinet Division document, during the 33 years from 1980 to 2013, 12 presidents of the country and prime ministers including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan took 2,714 gifts with them from Toshakhana.

  • General Ziaul Haq took home 122 gifts from Tosha Khana.
  • In the 80s, the famous prime minister Muhammad Khan Junejo took 304 gifts home with him.
  • Ghulam Ishaq Khan, the famous president of Pakistan in the 80s and 90s and the one who dissolved the most assemblies in the political history of Pakistan, took 88 gifts with him from Tosha Khana.
  • Benazir Bhutto, who was the prime minister from 1988 to 1990 and again from 1993 to 1996, took home 174 gifts from Toshakhana.
  • Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, who was the Prime Minister from 1991 to 1993 and again from 1997 to 1999, took 75 gifts home with him. Sharif’s family bought 75 gifts of Toshakhana for 1.4 million, Nawaz Sharif bought a carpet for Rs50 and became the owner of Mercedes for 600,000 while Maryam Nawaz bought a watch worth 10 lakhs for 45,000.
  • Former acting president Waseem Sajjad received four gifts and he took all four home with him.
  • Former president Farooq Khan Leghari took home 114 gifts.
  • Former president Rafiq Tarar took 79 gifts home with him.
  • Former prime minister Zafar Khan Jamali took home 110 gifts from Toshakhana.
  • Chaudhry Shujaat became the prime minister for a month during which he received 9 gifts which he took home with him.
  • Former president General Pervez Musharraf took 515 gifts home with him.
  • Former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz took 1126 gifts home with him.

Former President Asif Ali Zardari and former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani also received gifts from Toshakhana and in this regard, several cases have been pending in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court for many years.
