Moonis rejects possibility of Pervaiz Elahi becoming PDM’s Punjab CM

PML-Q leader Chaudhry Moonis Elahi has rejected the possibility that Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi could be Punjab CM of PDM.

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) leader and former federal minister Chaudhry Moonis Elahi has rejected the possibility that Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi could be the Chief Minister of Punjab of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

Commenting on the tweet of journalist Ihtishamul Haq, he said that “Not interested. Absolutely Not!”

The journalist wrote on Twitter, “PDM also offered the CM seat to Parvez Elahi.”

Speaking to the media after the opposition parties submitted a no-confidence motion against CM Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, PA Speaker Sibtain Khan and Deputy Speaker Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi in the Punjab Assembly last day, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Attaullah Tarar said that there is no such thing in the constitution. There is no restriction that a no-confidence motion cannot be submitted if the assembly session is in progress.

Attaullah Tarar said that no single individual has the right to end someone’s mandate prematurely.
On this occasion, the journalist asked whether Pervaiz Elahi could be the PDM’s CM.

Answering the question, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Hasan Murtaza said that politics is a game of possibilities, anything can happen here.

Reacting to the no-confidence motion in the PA, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry tweeted that the purpose of the no-confidence motion and vote of confidence are the tactics to escape from the elections, on the other hand, PML-N’s Rana Sanaullah and Ahsan Iqbal were asking to dissolve the assembly and go to the election.

Fawad further said that the no-confidence motion will fail and Pervaiz Elahi will dissolve the assembly. The decision of the people is final. he added.
