Student gunned down inside coaching centre in Karachi

KARACHI: In a shocking incident, a student was killed by the firing of the AK-47 rifle by his fellow student inside coaching centre in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area.

The slain student was identified as Ehsan Ali s/o Athar Ali who got killed by his class fellow inside the coaching centre established in the Azeem Schooling System in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area.

The deceased Ehsan Ali had a dispute with the student Luqman on Thursday. Later on Friday, the accused brought his friend Talha on Friday. They entered the classroom and shot Ehsan in front of the teacher. The student succumbed to his wounds in the hospital while another student also sustained injuries.

Police said raids are being conducted and the accused will be arrested soon. The injured and the deceased boys are eighth and ninth grade students. The accused has been identified as Luqman.

Immediately after the incident, SSP Investigation East Tariq Mastoi visited the accident, he told the media that both students read in the coaching centre which had a fight yesterday but the administration had reconciled.

The SSP said how did the student bring big weapons to the coaching centre? He is being investigated, he said, adding that the accused Luqman will be arrested soon.

A case was lodged at Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station over the complaint of the slain student’s father. His father stated in the First Information Report (FIR)

“My son Ehsan Ali used to study in the Azeem Schooling System. I was informed on the phone that Ehsan Ali was shot. I arrived at the coaching centre and was told that he had taken the son to the hospital.”

According to the deceased’s father, teacher Sadaf was conducting a session in the classroom at the time of the incident. Ehsan Ali was shot in front of the teacher in the classroom, he added.

The victim’s father appealed to the police authorities to arrest both the accused and take legal action against them.
