Ehsas Cash Recipients Protest Kickbacks in Sindh

Ehsas cash recipients demanded the federal government to devise a way for direct transfer of monthly stipend without involvement of middlemen

The female recipients of the Ehsas Emergency Cash Program protested in the Sanghar district of Sindh against the commission mafia. The protesting women complained that they have to pay minimum Rs 1,000 to get their monthly stipend.

They said that it was unfair to them as they were already finding it hard to make ends meet. They appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan to take notice of the issue.

The women told News360 that the related officials do not release stipend to the beneficiaries on the pretext that their names were not enlisted.

Therefore, they are compelled to give commissions for cash handouts.

When News360 contacted Sindh government’s officials if they have taken any action against such complaints, they put the onus on the federal government citing that it was not their responsibility but of federation’s as the program was run by it.

Ehsas cash recipients, who are victims of cupidity, said that the federal government should devise a way through which the monthly stipend was transferred directly to them without the involvement of middlemen.

Further, the federal government had intended to amend the name of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and bring it under the umbrella of Ehsas Cash Program.
