National Heritage Site Left Littered by PDM After Lahore Show

Iqbal Park of Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore was left littered by the participants of PDM rally who did not bother to clear up the mess before leaving

The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) display of power at Minar-e-Pakistan in Iqbal Park, Lahore on Sunday may or may not have left an impact on the government but it certainly did on the famous landmark and it was left littered not sporadically but the entire reserved area by the protesters.

PDM leaders motivated the supporters against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government but failed to guide them that they must leave Iqbal Park after picking up the mess they had created.

All participants of the anti-government demonstration put their share in maligning the beauty of Iqbal Park in Lahore during the PDM rally and littered it.

The same opposition parties which had accused the government of flooding the park as a tactic to stop their Lahore rally avenged leaving the site with rubbish all around.

A large area of the park was witnessed littered the next morning after PDM’s meeting with wrappers, banners, buntings, panaflexs, and flags seen spread all over the place.

In a display of poor civic sense, the people of Lahore failed to keep the landmark clean before leaving while the political parties that had organized anti-government protests did not drive their workers to clean the site before leaving too.

When compared to other cities of Punjab and even with other big cities of Pakistan, Lahore stands out in cleanliness and it is generally presumed that the locals are very undeviating about it too.

Such lack of civic sense especially at a landmark as sacred as Minar-e-Pakistan has been criticized and disliked widely.

The people have opined that holding grudges against the government is justifiable but rubbish left lying about wasn’t in any way.
