Najam Sethi’s experiment failed miserably, Pakistan lost T20 series against Afghanistan

Najam Sethi, the head of Pakistan Cricket Board’s Interim Management Committee, failed miserably in the national team, Pakistan lost the T20 series against Afghanistan for the first time in history.

In the second match of the series of three T20 matches, Afghanistan defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets and took a decisive lead of 0-2 in the series.

In the match played in Sharjah, captain Shadab Khan won the toss and decided to bat. The start of Pakistan’s innings was disappointing and opener Saeem Ayub and one-down Abdullah Shafiq returned to the pavilion without opening the account in the first over. Chasing Pakistan’s target of 131 runs, Afghanistan’s first wicket fell at a total score of 30, and opener Usman Ghani was dismissed for 7 runs. After that, Rahmanullah Garbaz and Ibrahim Zadran played responsible innings and the team was close to victory. However, after scoring 44 runs, Rahmanullah was run out. Ibrahim Zadran also became a victim of Ehsanullah by scoring 38 runs.

Thanks to Najibullah Zadran’s unbeaten innings of 23 runs and Muhammad Nabi’s 14 runs, the Afghan team not only won the match by achieving the target at the loss of 3 wickets in the 20th over but also won the match 0-2 in the 3-match series. Also got the lead.

Zaman and Ehsanullah took one wicket each for Pakistan. Afghanistan’s fast bowler Fazal Haq Farooqui was named player of the match.

The last match of the series will be played today in Sharjah Stadium. It should be clear that Afghanistan won the T20 series against Pakistan for the first time. The experiment of resting senior players like Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi and testing youngsters has proved to be a dismal failure.
