Zardari takes an upper hand, as Najam Sethi pulls out of Chairman PCB race

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Interim Managing Committee Chairman Najam Sethi sacrificed to bridge the rifts between the ruling coalition.

Najam Sethi withdrew from the race of PCB chairman. The way for Zaka Ashraf, a close friend of former president Asif Zardari, to become the PCB chairman again has been paved.

PCB Interim Managing Committee Chairman Najam Sethi has said in his tweet that “I don’t want to cause conflict between Shahbaz Sharif and Asif Zardari, this kind of instability is not good for PCB either, the current situation.” I am no longer a candidate for chairmanship, best wishes to all partners”.

It should be noted that there has been a dispute between the PML-N and the People’s Party over the issue of Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board for the past few days. While the People’s Party said that Zaka Ashraf has the right to the post of PCB Chairman, if the government wants to keep Najam Sethi, then he should be posted elsewhere.

Now, after Najam Sethi withdrew from the race for the post of PCB Chairman, the way has been paved for Zaka Ashraf.
