The last time, Pakistan won a test series against Kiwis was in 2010-11.
Shadab Khan is also ruled out of the first test after a thigh injury.
Now in the absence of Babar Azam and Shadab Khan, Muhammad Rizwan, who is debuting as a Test captain, has to play his cards wisely and hope for an impressive performance from both bowlers and batsmen.
