PDM Rally, NA Session on Same Day, Is It a Coincidence?

GUJRANWALA: As the October 16 Gujranwala rally of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) draws near, tensions between the government and the opposition are mounting. Statements against each other are gaining momentum. In her recent TV Interview, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz vice president Maryam Nawaz has claimed that they will strike down the Imran Government even before the start of new year. She looked very determined and confident to get rid of her opponent from power corridors.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s senior leader Khawaja Saad Rafiq has condemned the government’s idea to call the National Assembly and Senate sessions on Oct 16. Criticizing the decision, he said that the opposition parties will be engaged in public gathering in Gujranwala. He demanded to reschedule the sessions for Monday October 19.

Meanwhile, District Management has eventually allowed opposition parties to hold a public gathering on October 16 in Gujranwala. The meeting will be held at Jinnah Stadium.

According to agreement, a 28-point agreement has been reached between the district administration and PDM.

During the meeting, both agreed to observe coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). According to the decision, the public meeting will be allowed at Jinnah Stadium on October 16 from 5 pm to 11 pm. All the terms agreed between the parties are included in the written order. No workers will be able to enter the venue without having mask and sanitizer.

In view of the pandemic, there must be a distance of 3 to 6 feet between the people, while sanitizing walk-through gates will be installed at the entry and exit points of the stadium.

There will be a ban on display of firearms and fireworks in the Jalsa Gah, there will be no speech against the national security agencies and the constitution.

According to the 28 point agreement, the cases will be registered against the demonstrators on violation of any of the clauses.
