A major internet outage that lasted for nearly an hour affected several high-profile websites including Amazon that missed out on nearly $34 million in sales.
The company enjoyed a surge in sales during covid-19 pandemic and generated sales of $75.6 billion at the beginning of this year.
The internet outage caused an interruption in the shopping of potential customers of Amazon and caused a major dent in its wallet.

Due to the blip, many websites including of United Kingdom (UK) government, Financial Times, The Guardian, New York Times, Amazon, Reddit, and Twitch couldn’t be accessed.
Fastly, a cloud computing provider company, took responsibility for the interruption of services and said that there had been issues with the global content delivery network (CDN).
“We identified a service configuration that triggered disruption across our POPs (points of presence) globally and have disabled that configuration”, Fastly’s official statement said.
As the news broke out on Twitter, the users got engaged in making gripping comments.
