Business Community Lambasts Gas Suspension by SSGC
FPCCI President Mian Nasser Hyatt Magoo said the cut-off of gas to industries for 72 hours is intolerable and doubted the situation to worsen in winter
Citing shortage, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) suspended gas supply to industrial units and CNG stations in Sindh and Balochistan which has been rebuffed by the business community.
The suspension will stay in place until 8 am Monday owing to the reduced availability of gas.
The notification issued by SSGC said, “Due to short supply of gas, the availability of gas has decreased and there is a possibility of low gas pressure in SSGCL system.”
Therefore, the gas supply to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations including RLNG filling spots as well as industrial units will remain suspended until October 11.
Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) slammed SSGC for stopping gas to industries in Sindh and Balochistan.
