The current account between July and March in the fiscal year 2020-2021 (FY21) remained in surplus, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported.
Although the current account in March fell in the deficit territory at $47 million.

However, the overall figure during the first nine months was recorded to be in surplus. The current account displayed a surplus of $959 million.
During the corresponding period last year, the current account was in a deficit of $4.14 billion.
The country’s exports stood at $18.7 billion between July and March FY21. During the same period, the imports were recorded at $37.3 billion.
Pakistani expatriates sent remittances worth $21.46 billion during the first nine months of the fiscal year.
