Foreign Investors Declared Pakistan ‘Profitable’ For Investment
Nearly 200 investors expressed their views in a survey conducted by OICCI on the law and order situation and investment in Pakistan
The Overseas Chamber of Commerce and Industries (OICCI), a representative body of foreign investors, has termed Pakistan as ‘profitable’ in its 2021 survey.
Nearly 200 foreign investors expressed their views in a survey conducted by OICCI on the law and order situation and investment in Pakistan.
According to the survey, the security situation in Lahore has improved by 61% this year as compared to 2020. Some 59% of participants expressed satisfaction on law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and 51% in Karachi.

The investors praised the performance of law enforcement agencies on improving security in business centers in Karachi and Lahore.
However, some members have expressed concern in respect of growing street crimes, especially in Karachi.
In terms of serious crimes, 87% of respondents indicated either a decrease over last year or ‘not an issue’ in Lahore while the percentage was 75% in Karachi.
Similarly, 89%, 75%, and 73% were the percentages for KP, Quetta, and Balochistan respectively.
Since March of last year, the foreign investors visited Pakistan with OICCI members despite the outbreak of coronavirus, though at a lower frequency.
These foreigners were from China, United States (US), United Kingdom (UK), Germany, Japan, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and other European and Asian countries.
The survey concluded that improved security condition is increasing interest of foreign investors and they consider Pakistan s safe and a profitable country to invest in.
