Govt borrowed $3.9 billion in four months of FY22
Economic Affairs Division says around $2.3bn of the total acquired loans has been for budgetary support.
The government has borrowed fresh external loans of $3.9 billion during the first four months of the fiscal year 2022, the Economic Affairs Division said.
It added that around $2.3 billion or 59 per cent of the total acquired loans has been for the budgetary support.

The federal government had borrowed $866 million from the commercial banks. It borrowed $1.869 billion from the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).
The PTI-led government expects external borrowings of $10.370 billion in FY22 while grants of $3.717 billion.
The Economic Affairs Division said that between July and October 2020, external borrowing was around $3.3 billion.
During the FY 21, the total external borrowing stood around $14.282 billion. Of the total borrowing, $8.171 billion or some 57 percent was for the budgetary support.
